Helping Los Angeles Fill the Void

The well-established Los Angeles trauma system had a void in its San Gabriel Valley created by the closure of two trauma centers in the 1990s. Residents of the area were 28 miles away from the nearest trauma center. B+A helped LA County assess its trauma system and determine where a new trauma center could be located to serve the San Gabriel Valley region. B+A also worked directly with Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, the facility selected as Los Angeles county’s newest Level II trauma center, to conduct market and financial feasibility analyses, develop its acute care surgery medical staff, and prepare for verification by the American College of Surgeons.
