The 1991 Trauma Center Economic Study, conducted by Bishop + Associates (B+A) in collaboration with the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, initiated the development of the TCAA.

B+A helped LA County assess its trauma system and determine where a new trauma center could be located. B+A also worked directly with Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center to develop its Level II trauma center.

B+A assisted Washington Hospital in planning for and opening a new Level II trauma center on July 1 2024.

The Alameda County EMS Agency (California) recently partnered with B+A to evaluate its mature trauma system and to assess regional trauma capacity for the next two decades.

B+A helped Intermountin Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital to evaluate and develop a plan to increase the hospital’s trauma level from Level II to Level I.

B+A recently worked with the South Carolina Office of Rural Health to help small community hospitals assess their capabilities and resources to become Level IV trauma centers.

B+A worked with Ballad Health (Virginia and Tennessee) to assess capabilities and consolidate two Level I and one Level II trauma centers into a system of one Level I and two Level III centers.

B+A assisted the Healthcare Georgia Foundation in addressing the need for trauma care amidst a state crisis triggered by the closure of several trauma centers.
